Wood and the working of it has been in my blood from the moment I first drew breath as my father was a senior technical representative for a major midland timber importer.
I went to college in Leeds, qualified as a teacher of craft, (and latterly design and technology) and then spent all of my adult life teaching craft skills and knowledge in secondary education until retirement. I then found the time to re-visit an old love - woodturning!
I work mainly in European hardwoods though I have a dwindling stock of more ‘exotic’ hardwoods from my father’s collection - and it would be a crime not to use them now.
I don’t specialise on one aspect of turning, I just enjoy whatever it is I’m doing and also enjoy trying new projects. I aim to make things that are attractive, nice to handle and use.
I hope you enjoy what you see.
