My paintings are currently inspired by the beauty of a garden in full bloom, however my main fascination is with colour and the versatility of paint as a medium. At the moment I am working to encapsulate a garden’s vividness of colour and in some pieces the motion of a breeze. I study our natural surroundings and bring to our attention the rich variety of forms and tones we pass on a daily basis. Although traditional in painting style, I allow my own arrangements and compositions to materialize through acrylics and oils, creating fairly contemporary vibrant floral pieces.
After A levels I studied Fine Art at a Foundation Course at Stafford College then continued to obtain a BA Upper Second Class Honours (2.1) in Fine Art at Loughborough University. I took a different direction through my studies, however have since returned back to my love of painting. I see paint as colour; clashing, mixing and complimenting and nothing awakens my senses more.
